We provide members with timely and targeted information on developments in chemicals legislation and other regulatory activities relevant to the running of businesses operating in the industry, covering EU as well as UK legislation. We do this via
We understand the industry and represent members' interests through engagement with Government, the regulators and other stakeholders in the UK and through involvement at the European level. Engagement means we can work to help shape the regulatory landscape within which our members have to operate and the design of legislation to minimise the adverse impact on industry whilst meeting the regulatory outcomes it is intended to achieve.

We also work with, or support the work of, other organisations such as the Society of Cosmetic Scientists (SCS), Cosmetic Cluster UK (CCUK), British Standards Institute (BSI), the Water Management Society (WMSoc), the Legionella Control Association (LCA) and Replacing Animal Research (RAR) and with contacts in Government and the Regulators.
At the European level, BCA is a member of the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI) and the Biocides for Europe (B4E) and the CESIO surfactant producers sector groups of Cefic. We also contribute to the work of the European standards organisation CEN.
We run conferences, seminars and specialist training courses for staff professional development on scientific, technical and regulatory topics, helping to promote sustainable product development and innovation. Events are open BCA members and non-members.
