British Chemicals Association (BCA) is a trade association which represents members who have business activities associated with the chemical industry supply chain. BCA provides a home for businesses wherever they sit in the supply chain, where they can keep abreast of industry and regulatory developments and benefit from the collective voice which membership provides. We also run seminars and specialist training courses for staff professional development on scientific, technical and regulatory topics, helping to promote sustainable product development and innovation.

Our history

Although the Association was incorporated only in 1983, its roots go back to representing manufacturers of disinfectants and polishes a century ago.  Incorporated as British Association for Chemical Specialities and widely known in the chemical industry as BACS, the company changed its name in 2021 to British Chemicals Association in order to better reflect the diversity of its membership which is now representative of the whole chemical industry supply chain.
